HRH the Deputy King chairs the weekly Cabinet Meeting

Manama, May 8 (BNA): His Majesty the King’s Deputy, His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, chaired the weekly cabinet meeting at Gudaibiya Palace.


The Cabinet stressed the importance of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa attending the coronation ceremony of His Majesty King Charles III of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland and Head of the Commonwealth of Nations, which was also attended by His Highness the Crown Prince. Prince and Prime Minister, which reflects the depth of relations between the two countries.


The Cabinet congratulated His Majesty King Charles III on his coronation and thanked the United Kingdom for its hospitality.


On the occasion of World Press Freedom Day and Bahraini Press Day, the Cabinet praised the speech of His Majesty the King on the importance of addressing hate speech. The Cabinet also highlighted the contributions of Bahrainis to the press and media and emphasized their pivotal role in supporting the comprehensive development of the Kingdom.


In celebration of International Nurses Day, the Council of Ministers thanked the Bahraini nurses for providing excellent health services to Bahraini citizens and residents.


The Cabinet affirmed the Kingdom of Bahrain’s support for the Saudi-American initiative to start preliminary talks in Jeddah between representatives of the Sudanese Armed Forces and the Rapid Support Forces from the Republic of Sudan. These talks aim to encourage a cessation of military operations in Sudan, and eventually end the ongoing conflict.

The mediation will be led by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the United States of America, with the support of the Quartet, the Arab League and the tripartite mechanism represented by the United Nations Mission, the African Union and the Intergovernmental Authority on Development.


The Council of Ministers welcomed the decision of the Council of the League of Arab States in its extraordinary session to resume the participation of delegations of the Government of the Syrian Arab Republic in the meetings of the Council and all its affiliated organizations.

The Cabinet indicated that this decision supports the commitment to preserving Syria’s sovereignty and territorial integrity in line with common Arab interests and aspirations.


During the meeting, the Cabinet discussed several memorandums approving the following:


1. A memorandum from the Civil Service Council to approve flexible working hours in ministries and government agencies.


The new policy will provide employees with a three-hour window to start their workday to increase productivity. The Cabinet directed the Civil Service Bureau to take the necessary measures to implement the policy.


2. A memorandum from the Minister of Municipalities Affairs and Agriculture regarding owning real estate for public use to provide spaces for urban development.


3. A memorandum submitted by the Ministerial Committee for Legal and Legislative Affairs regarding the government’s response to four proposals submitted by the House of Representatives.


Then the Cabinet reviewed a memorandum submitted by the Ministerial Committee for Financial and Economic Affairs and Financial Balance regarding the latest developments through the Salmaniya Medical Complex and primary health care centers, and the memorandum of His Excellency the Minister of Health regarding the classification of graduates of local training programs. .

1. The visit of the Home Secretary to the United Kingdom


2 – The Kingdom’s participation in two extraordinary ministerial sessions of the Council of the League of Arab States regarding developments in the Syrian and Sudanese crises.


3. The visit of the Minister of Foreign Affairs to the Republic of Ukraine


4. The participation of the Minister of Finance and National Economy in the spring meetings of the World Bank Group and the International Monetary Fund


5. Participation in the launch of the Declaration of the Kingdom of Bahrain in the Arab Republic of Egypt


6. Participation in the extraordinary session of the Council of Arab Ministers of Social Affairs


7. The outcomes of the consultative meeting of the GCC Health Ministers Committee


8. Participation in the Arabian Travel Market 2023


9. Participation in the thirty-sixth meeting of the GCC Ministers of Youth and Sports


10- Participation of foreign ministers and visits of foreign delegations to the Kingdom of Bahrain
