HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister issues Edict (65) of 2021

Manama, December 1 (BNA) His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince, Prime Minister and Chairman of the Higher Committee for Urban Planning issued today Resolution No. 65 of 2021, which states the following:

Article (1):

A working group is formed under the Higher Committee for Urban Planning to examine the structural plans of new cities.

Article 2):

The task force is chaired by Nouf Abdul Rahman Jamsheer and includes the following members:

1- Sheikha Haifa bint Ibrahim Al Khalifa

2- Muhammad Mirza Al-Araibi

3- Dr. Muhammad Juma Al-Rumaida

4- Ali Ismail Karimi

5- Dr. Giovanna Carnevale

6- Paul Lane

7- Ian Shirey

Article (3)

The task force shall have the following duties and responsibilities:

1- Reviewing and studying the general structural plans of the cities to be developed which are Fasht Al-Jarm, Suhaila Island, Fasht Al-Adham, Bahrain Bay, Hawar Islands, in addition to evaluating the outputs of the initial designs and their technical work. Observations and opinions relating to planning as well as economic, social and environmental aspects.

2- Proposing an implementation plan and the necessary procedures for preparing detailed structural plans.

3- Any other tasks or competencies assigned to the work team by the Higher Committee for Urban Planning.

Article (4)

The task force sets an internal bylaw that organizes its work and everything related to its affairs.

The task force appoints a rapporteur from among its members or others, who is responsible for preparing for its meetings and agendas, as well as writing the minutes of the meetings.

Article (5)

The relevant ministries, institutions and bodies in the Kingdom are obligated to provide the work team with the data and information it requests and which it deems necessary for its work.

The task force may seek the assistance of those deemed experienced and qualified to prepare studies and research on topics within its competence to obtain their opinions.

The task force submits monthly reports to the Higher Committee for Urban Planning on the work it carried out during each month.

The task force submits the results of its work, recommendations and studies to the Higher Committee for Urban Planning.

Article (7)

The Ministers – each within his jurisdiction – shall implement the provisions of this Resolution, and it shall be put into effect immediately.
