Manama, November 8 (BNA) His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister chaired today the weekly meeting of the Council of Ministers at Al-Qudaibiya Palace.
The Council of Ministers congratulated His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, and His Royal Highness the Crown Prince, the Prime Minister, on the victory of Muharraq Club in the Asian Cup for the second time. The Cabinet praised the efforts and capabilities of the Muharraq Club, which reflects the development of Bahraini sports and its distinguished position at the regional and international levels.
The Cabinet stressed the importance of the speech delivered by His Royal Highness the Crown Prince and Prime Minister at the 26th United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP26) in Glasgow, UK. The speech reflected the Kingdom of Bahrain’s support for international efforts to overcome climate change and develop innovative solutions to achieve climate security, stressing the Kingdom of Bahrain’s commitment to achieving carbon neutrality by 2060. The Kingdom of Bahrain also announced its planned goals to reduce emissions. by 2035, as well as the Kingdom’s support for major international initiatives in the field of climate change. In this regard, the Council of Ministers assigned the Ministerial Committee for Financial and Economic Affairs and Financial Balance to follow up on this.
The Cabinet affirmed the Kingdom of Bahrain’s support for the UAE’s request to host the 28th session of the United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP28) in Abu Dhabi in 2023, praising the UAE’s capabilities in organizing international events and unifying efforts to meet international challenges.
The Council of Ministers denounced the assassination attempt against the Prime Minister of the Republic of Iraq, Mustafa Al-Kazemi, denouncing this terrorist act aimed at destabilizing Iraq’s security and stability and provoking sedition in Iraq.
During the meeting, the Council of Ministers discussed a number of memoranda with the following results:

1 – A memorandum by the Ministerial Committee for Legal and Legislative Affairs regarding a draft decision regarding the rules and provisions for distributing plots of land for planning or re-planning after expropriation, and compensating the owners of real estate located within the boundaries of these lands. projects.
2 – Memorandum of the Ministerial Committee for Legal and Legislative Affairs on a draft memorandum of understanding between the Supreme Council for the Environment in the Kingdom of Bahrain and the Ministry of Environment in the Republic of Korea on environmental cooperation with the aim of enhancing cooperation between the two countries. Countries in the areas of environmental technology, biodiversity protection, natural resources and water quality management.
3. A memorandum by the Ministerial Committee for Legal and Legislative Affairs regarding the participation of the Bahrain Authority for Culture and Antiquities in the World Crafts Council. The participation will contribute to supporting plans and strategies related to this field, and will support the registration of a number of Bahraini villages and cities in the World Crafts Council.
4. The memorandum of the Minister of Foreign Affairs regarding a number of memoranda of understanding with the United Arab Emirates, which aim to enhance bilateral cooperation.
5. The memorandum of the Minister of Foreign Affairs regarding a number of memoranda of understanding between the Kingdom of Bahrain and the Federal Republic of Brazil, which aim to strengthen bilateral cooperation in various fields.
6. A memorandum by the Minister of Industry, Commerce and Tourism regarding the accreditation of the Federal Republic of Brazil as a partner of the International Center for Sea and Air Freight Services in the Kingdom of Bahrain. In addition to 12 other countries, companies located in these countries are allowed to apply for accreditation as operator of these services.
7. Memorandum of the Ministerial Committee for Legal and Legislative Affairs regarding the government’s response to a proposed law submitted by the Shura Council.
The Cabinet reviewed the following topics:
1 – The memorandum of the Minister of Housing on the progress made in implementing the new urban plan, which documents the Kingdom of Bahrain’s national and international achievements in its quest to implement the 2030 Sustainable Development Goals, at the individual level. Income, human development, government investment initiatives, and increased participation of women in the workforce.
2. The Cabinet then took note of the ministerial reports on participation in the World Travel Market in London, and the meetings with UK education sector officials.
