Manama, May 22 (BNA): His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa received the Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, Lieutenant General Sahir Shamshad Mirza, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee of Pakistan.
Lieutenant General Sahir Shamshad Mirza conveyed the greetings of Dr. Arif Alvi, President of the Republic of Pakistan, and Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif, Prime Minister of Pakistan, and their wishes to the Kingdom of Bahrain and its people for continued progress and prosperity.
His Majesty King Hamad welcomed Lieutenant General Mirza and asked him to convey his greetings and sincere wishes to His Excellency the President and Prime Minister of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan for continued progress and prosperity. He emphasized the close historical relations between Bahrain and Pakistan and the growing development in various sectors.
His Majesty the King praised bilateral cooperation in all fields, noting the role of these visits in strengthening relations, especially in the military and defense fields. He expressed appreciation for Pakistan’s honorable positions and cooperation in maintaining security and stability in the region. He also praised the role of the Pakistani community in the Kingdom of Bahrain and its contributions to the development process.
The meeting discussed issues of common interest and the latest regional and international developments.
His Majesty King Hamad awarded General Saher Shamshad Mirza the “Order of Bahrain” in recognition of his efforts to enhance military and defense cooperation.
The Pakistan JCSCC Chairman expressed his gratitude to His Majesty the King for honoring him, and praised His Majesty’s efforts in consolidating bilateral relations, especially in the defense and military fields.
