Manama, Feb. 15 (BNA): His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa received today, at Al Sufriya Palace, in the presence of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, international musician Andre Rieu. Members of the Johann Strauss Orchestra on the occasion of their visit to the Kingdom of Bahrain to hold a concert.
His Majesty the King praised the international fame achieved by the artist Andre Rio, who was able to bring classical music closer to millions of people around the world thanks to his high artistic talent in performance and playing.
In appreciation of his contribution to the enrichment of world music through his distinguished musical and artistic work, His Majesty the King gifted musician Andre Rieu the Order of Bahrain of the first degree, wishing him and his orchestra more success.
Artist Andre Rio expressed his thanks and appreciation to His Majesty the King for awarding him the Order of Bahrain and for the generous welcome and hospitality.
