HM King deputises HRH Princess Sabeeka to attend Bahraini Women’s Day celebration

Manama, December 1 (BNA) A ceremony was held on the first day of December on the occasion of Bahraini Women’s Day.

His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa delegated Her Royal Highness Princess Sabeeka bint Ibrahim Al Khalifa, consort of His Majesty the King and President of the Supreme Council for Women, to attend the celebration.

The ceremony, under the title “Bahraini Women in National Development.. A Journey to Progress in a Dedicated Homeland”, coincided with the twentieth anniversary^NS Anniversary of the founding of the Council.

In her speech, HRH Princess Sabeeka expressed her thanks and gratitude to His Majesty the King for sponsoring the celebration, praising the royal patronage of Bahraini women.

She commended His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, praising his dedicated efforts in serving the country and His Majesty the King.

She said that this year’s session is being celebrated as Bahrain enters the stage of recovery from the epidemic, praying to the Almighty God to lift the disease from the whole world.

HRH Princess Sabeeka saluted the Bahraini women and praised their great contribution and dedication in various areas of life, and thanked the government for its unwavering support to the Council.

She particularly highlighted the government’s commitment to issuing the National Gender Balance Report, whose second edition reflects the efficiency and feasibility of policies, legislation and initiatives aimed at achieving gender balance and including women’s needs in development strategies.

She stressed the remarkable improvement in the indicators that revealed narrowing the gaps between men and women within the main areas of the national report, and congratulating the five ministries and institutions that topped the list of bodies covered by the report.

Then Her Royal Highness Princess Sabeeka inaugurated the Bahraini Women’s Monument “Al Athar” or “Al Athr”, which is a model of a memorial that the council seeks to erect as a national landmark that celebrates the achievements of Bahraini women within the framework of the Bahraini women’s march. The development process and the impact of their participation in modern development.

During the ceremony, a documentary film was broadcast that presented the most important objectives of this edifice, whose first phase is scheduled to open next March near the financial center in the capital, Manama.

A multi-use hall will also be established near the edifice to display the achievements and success stories of Bahraini women in innovative ways.

The planned hall will also serve as an incubator that includes a laboratory that accommodates the ideas, innovations and creative projects of Bahraini women looking to the future, in addition to a green space that reflects the natural and agricultural environment in the Kingdom. the two seas.

Then, HRH Princess Sabeeka received a book from the Secretary-General of the Supreme Council for Women, Hala Al-Ansari, documenting the council’s march and achievements over the past two decades to enhance the status of Bahraini women.

Her Royal Highness Princess Sabeeka honored the Education and Training Quality Authority (BQA), the National Revenue Authority (NBR), the Ministry of Health, the National Health Regulatory Authority (NHRA), and the Bahrain Authority for Culture and Antiquities (BACA) which topped the government. Entities on the Institutional Performance Index in the National Gender Balance Report (2019-2020). She also took a souvenir photo with them and congratulated them on this achievement.
