HH Shaikh Nasser directs to establish Cybersecurity Sciences Academy at NVTC

Manama, May 3 (BNA): The National Security Adviser, Secretary General of the Supreme Defense Council, Commander of the Royal Guard and the Board of Trustees, President of the Nasser Center for Vocational Training, Lieutenant General His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa. I directed the establishment of the Academy of Cyber ​​Security Sciences at the National Center for Technology, headed by Dr. Abdullah bin Nasser Al-Nuaimi.

The Academy, which will become one of the main pillars of security and technical education in Bahrain, and which will strengthen the Kingdom’s position in the field of security technology and data protection regionally and globally.

It reflects Bahrain’s strategic ambition to develop cybersecurity practices in the era of the Fourth Industrial Revolution, which is witnessing an unprecedented digital transformation across various sectors, which requires facing its challenges by promoting a culture of cybersecurity among youth, as it is a key factor in achieving it. Security and safety when using modern technologies, and providing them with the skills, as well as the scientific and professional expertise necessary to confront digital security risks, and to be effective when working in this field, whether at the level of individuals or institutions.

The academy will attract Bahraini students from the tenth to the twelfth grade on the one hand, and high school graduates wishing to obtain a diploma in information technology and cybersecurity, in addition to those who have been trained in the principles and sciences of technology and strategy. , On the other hand.

The skills and technologies that graduates of the academy will contribute to shaping the prospects for the cyber future of the Kingdom.

In this regard, His Highness Sheikh Nasser bin Hamad, CEO of NVTC, met Dr. Abdullah bin Nasser Al-Nuaimi, and CEO of the National Center for Cybersecurity Sheikh Salman bin Mohammed Al Khalifa, and his accompanying delegation.

His Highness Sheikh Nasser discussed with the delegation ways of cooperation in order to launch the academy in the next academic year 2023-2024, in addition to academic programs and educational curricula to be developed.

The goal is to ensure that the academy’s outputs are competitive, meet the needs of the labor market and vital sectors, and are in line with the national strategy for cybersecurity.

It is worth noting that the center’s strategic plan 2022-2025 aims to transform the center into a science city that embraces innovation and digital transformation, to be an ideal destination for technological and vocational education for Bahraini youth in developing their skills and experience, and motivating them.
