Manama, April 25 (BNA) His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa honored today, the Royal Bahraini Air Force, the winners of the fifth edition of the Officers’ Ramadan Football Championship. The tournament is organized by the Royal Artillery and is held under the patronage of His Highness.
The Royal Bahraini Air Force scored 5:3 against the Royal Shields team of the Bahrain Defense Force in the final match held at the Royal Artillery Stadium.
During the first half, an exhibition match was held between the Bahrain national football team players and Bahraini celebrities.
His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Salman awarded the first place to the Royal Bahraini Air Force team, and the Royal Bahrain Defense Force Shield squad to the second place. His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Salman also honored the winners of the title of best player in the tournament, best scorer and best goalkeeper.
Some Bahrain Defense Force units, departments, the Bahrain Football Association, former Bahrain National Football Team players and Bahraini celebrities were honored for their contributions to the success of the tournament, while the Commander of the Royal Artillery, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum. His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Salman praised the Bahrain Defense Force for its support of such sports activities, and the efforts of the Royal Artillery in organizing the fifth edition of the Ramadan Football Championship for officers, which is an important sporting activity for youth within the Bahrain Defense Force.
His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Salman congratulated the winning teams and players in the tournament, and wished all teams success in the coming years.
The Commander of the Royal Bahraini Air Force, Major General Sheikh Hamad bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, the Commander of the Royal Artillery, Major General Sheikh Khalifa bin Hassan Al Khalifa, the President of the Bahrain Football Association Sheikh Ali bin Khalifa bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, and a number of people. It was also attended by a number of senior officers of the Bahrain Defense Force.
