Held at at EXPO 2020 Dubai, UAE cabinet session approves 2022- 2026 general budget

Dubai, October 12 (BNA) The UAE Cabinet, headed by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, approved the general budget of the United Arab Emirates for the year 2022-2026, with total expenditures of 290 billion dirhams, and the general budget of the United Arab Emirates United Nations for the year 2022, with expenditures of 58.931 billion dirhams.

The Cabinet at the session held at Expo 2020 Dubai also approved the new government strategic approach that serves as a framework for laying the foundations for action for the next 50 years.

The Emirates News Agency (WAM) reported that His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum directed all government agencies to adopt the new government strategic approach with setting priorities and setting projects and work plans.

It was also approved during the cabinet meeting on the general budget of the United Arab Emirates for the period 2022-2026, with a value of 290 billion dirhams. The 2022 budget was also approved, with an expenditure of 58.931 billion dirhams.

The largest share of the 2022 budget was allocated to the development and social benefits sector, with 41.2%, of which 16.3% were for education, 6% for social development, 8.4% for health, 8.2% for pensions, and 2.6% for other services.

3.8% of the budget was allocated to the infrastructure and financial resources sector.
