Health, Tourism Ministers discuss joint cooperation

Manama, July 19 (BNA) Health Minister Dr. Jalila bint Al-Sayed Jawad Hassan received Tourism Minister Fatima bin Jaafar Al-Sirafi and discussed joint cooperation in the field of medical tourism and the visiting doctor program.

Dr. Hassan stressed the ministry’s keenness to achieve development goals, noting that the Supreme Council of Health, headed by Lieutenant-General Dr. Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, supports the efforts made to achieve the sustainability of the health sector.

She highlighted the cooperation with medical providers abroad to attract prominent practitioners to treat patients in Bahrain through the Visiting Physician Program.

Al-Serafy stressed the keenness to expand joint cooperation to enhance Bahrain’s position as a destination for medical tourism, which is a fundamental pillar of the Kingdom’s tourism strategy 2022-2026.
