Health Minister, Syrian counterpart discuss bilateral health cooperation

Geneva, May 24 (BNA): Health Minister Jalila bint Al-Sayed Jawad Hassan met today with her Syrian counterpart, Dr. Hassan Muhammad Al-Ghobash, on the sidelines of the 75th session of the World Health Assembly held here in May. 21-30.

The minister stressed the importance of strengthening cooperation between the two countries in all fields, especially health, calling for the need to intensify cooperation with all countries in the region through the WHO Regional Office for the Eastern Mediterranean, in order to continue development and improvement. Performance of health systems and raising their efficiency in a sustainable manner.

The two ministers discussed issues of common interest, including areas of bilateral cooperation, as well as the exchange of expertise and medical experiences.

The latest regional and global health developments were also reviewed.

The Syrian Minister of Health expressed his deep thanks and appreciation to the Kingdom for its continuous cooperation with his country.

He also praised Bahrain’s tremendous efforts to develop the health sector, noting its keenness to implement health plan initiatives aimed at developing health care services.
