Geneva, May 26 (BNA): Health Minister Dr. Jalila bint Al-Sayed Jawad Hassan, CEO of the National Health Regulatory Authority, congratulated Dr. Maryam Athbi Al-Jalahma on receiving the Nelson Award. Mandela Prize for Health Promotion from the World Health Organization.


The Director-General of the World Health Organization, Dr. Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, presented the award to Dr. Al-Jalahma during a ceremony held today on the sidelines of the 76th.y World Health Assembly, in the presence of the President of the World Health Assembly, Ministers of Health and heads of delegations.


The Minister of Health confirmed that Dr. Al-Jalahma’s success in winning the prestigious award comes in recognition of her efforts in the field of health promotion over the past thirty years.


She expressed the Kingdom of Bahrain’s pride in its distinguished national competencies, which are making pioneering efforts in various fields, especially health.
