Manama, Mar. 7 (BNA): The School Health Department of the Public Health Department, the Health Promotion Department, and the Anti-Smoking Group at the Public Health Department of the Ministry of Health continued implementing the Generations Without Smoking Program, in coordination with the School Health Department. in the Ministry of Education.
The program is implemented in public schools in the Kingdom and aims at early detection of tobacco use, raising awareness of the harmful effects of smoking, and promoting healthy lifestyles for students.
The program targeted fifth-grade students, knowing that it has been implemented since 2018 at a rate of 8-9 schools per semester, as 1,171 students benefited from the program.
