Head of the Foreign Ministry’s Asian and Pacific Ocean Affairs Sector chairs high profile meeting for ACD Forum

Manama, May 24 (BNA): Head of the Asia and Pacific Affairs Sector at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Fatima Abdullah Fares Al Dhaen, chaired today the online meeting of the high-level working group of the Asian Cooperation Dialogue Forum. It was attended by the Secretary-General of the Asian Cooperation Dialogue, Dr. Poornchai Danvivathana, and representatives of member states.


The meeting highlighted the “Bahrain Declaration” and the member states’ remarks on it, in preparation for announcing the eighteenth ministerial meeting, which will be held under the presidency of the Kingdom of Bahrain this year under the slogan “Beyond the Pandemic”. sustainable recovery.”


Ambassador Al Dhaen expressed the Kingdom’s appreciation to all member states for their continuous support and effective contribution during the Kingdom’s presidency of the current session of the 2021-2023 dialogue. She stressed Bahrain’s support for the Asian Cooperation Dialogue Forum, out of its belief in the capabilities of the Asian continent and the benefits of joint work to exchange experiences.


The Kingdom of Bahrain is one of the founding members of the Forum, based on the belief in dialogue as an advanced process in which Asian decision-makers exchange views and experiences to build strategic relations between Asian countries and regional blocs.


The Asian Cooperation Dialogue, which includes 35 member countries in Asia, was established in 2002 to promote Asian cooperation, strengthen relations between Asian regional organizations, expand trade and financial markets in Asia, and enhance competitiveness with the rest of the world.
