Manama, May 9 (BNA) A cooperation agreement for medical research was signed between the Governmental Hospitals Department in Bahrain and the Maccabi Health Fund – Can Sagol Institute for Research and Innovation.
The agreement aims to enrich medical research and promote medical innovation between the two countries.
The signing was attended by the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Bahrain to Israel, Khaled Yousef Al-Jalahma, and the Israeli ambassador to Bahrain, Eitan Naeh.
The agreement was signed by Dr. Tal Batalon, President of Maccabi Khalid Sheikh Khalifa, and Chief Executive Officer of Governmental Hospitals, Dr. Ahmed Al-Ansari.
It will include big data research and various clinical trials focusing specifically on personalized medicine in women’s health, health economics, COVID-19, emergency and trauma medicine, and region-endemic diseases.
The collaboration seeks to promote the joint development and implementation of medical innovation tools, the development of educational infrastructure programs, as well as the hosting of joint seminars, regional conferences and more.
All joint studies will be subject to regulatory requirements and each research will be conducted in complete privacy, removing identifying details and maintaining patient confidentiality and privacy.

I am confident that together we can continue to develop medicine in the Middle East by developing new medical technologies and conducting groundbreaking operations across countries,” said Dr. Ahmed Al-Ansari.
