Foreign Minister meets UN High Commissioner for Human Rights

Geneva, March 1 (BNA): Minister of Foreign Affairs, Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al-Zayani, met today with the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR) in Geneva, Volker Türk.

The meeting was on the sidelines of the high-level segment – the 52nd regular session of the Human Rights Council, taking place in Geneva, Switzerland.

Dr. Al-Zayani praised the constructive cooperation between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights.

He affirmed the Kingdom of Bahrain’s commitment to protecting human rights as a top priority, and reviewed the Kingdom’s steps in this regard in light of the directives of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, and with the support of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa.
