Foreign Minister hails Bahraini women’s achievements

Manama, March 7 (BNA) Foreign Minister Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al-Zayani praised the advanced achievements of Bahraini women thanks to the reform approach and efforts pursued by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa. The government is headed by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister.

Dr. Al-Zayani affirmed the Kingdom’s keenness and care for women’s affairs to include them in the development process, and congratulated Her Royal Highness Princess Sabeeka bint Ibrahim Al Khalifa, consort of His Majesty the King and President of the Supreme Council for Women. ) on International Women’s Day.

He praised the role of the Supreme Council for Women in supporting Bahraini women and enhancing their role in the economic, social, cultural and other fields, based on the directives of His Majesty the King and the basic principles of the Constitution of the Kingdom of Bahrain.

He expressed his pride in the efforts to support women in the Kingdom thanks to the continuous support of the Supreme Council for Women through the development of national policies and qualitative plans to promote women’s rights, most notably the National Plan for the Advancement of Bahraini Women.

He praised the success of Bahraini women, their active participation in many developmental fields, and the high position they have reached in leadership positions in ministries, official bodies and the private sector, in confirmation of the Kingdom of Bahrain’s continuous efforts to integrate women’s needs into development. and achieving the principle of equal opportunities, in line with the Kingdom’s international obligations, such as the Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination against Women (CEDAW), the Beijing Declaration and Platform for Action, the International Covenant on Economics, and Social and Cultural Rights.

He referred to the success of Bahraini women in the field of diplomacy and the constructive role played by Bahraini diplomats in implementing Bahrain’s foreign policy and enhancing its position at the international level.

In this regard, he affirmed the ministry’s keenness to implement the principle of equal opportunities in employment and promotion, and to support the role of women at all levels in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and in diplomatic missions abroad.

Dr. Al-Zayani said that the Bahraini women’s march reflects the royal vision based on achieving justice and equality in rights and duties among all citizens and providing support and care to Bahraini women, allowing them to contribute to the progress and prosperity of the Kingdom.
