Education Minister lays foundation stone for Awali National School

Manama, Jan. 19 (BNA) Minister of Education Dr. Majid bin Ali Al-Nuaimi affirmed that the education of children with special needs in Bahrain enjoys the full support of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and His Royal Highness. His Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, indicated that many schools provide distinguished services to this segment.

This came in a speech delivered by Dr. Al-Nuaimi while sponsoring the foundation stone laying ceremony for Al-Awli National School, in the presence of Dr. Sheikha Rania bint Ali Al Khalifa, President of the Bahraini Society for Children with Behavioral and Communication Difficulties, and founder of Aliyah National School, in addition to a number of officials from the Ministry of Education and members of the Board of Directors. The school administration.

He pointed out that the Ministry of Education has provided all kinds of support to Alia National School since its establishment in 2006, believing in its important role in providing distinguished educational services for children with special needs.

The minister stressed that the establishment of the Al-Awli National School confirms the continuation of the Kingdom’s educational services for students with autism spectrum disorder, as many of them were integrated into classes with their peers in government schools, and a classroom was recently opened for them in government schools. Intermediate stage.

He pointed out that the Ministry of Education provides its services to different categories of students with special needs in schools, including those with mild mental disabilities, Down syndrome, and visual and hearing disabilities.

He added that during the spread of the new Corona Virus pandemic, the Ministry of Education continued to provide educational services to all students, including those with special needs, noting that more than 28 thousand lessons were delivered to them, and their educational channel was launched on YouTube. .

The representative of Alia National School, Fathi Matar, delivered a statement praising the tremendous efforts made by the Minister of Education to raise the level of education in the Kingdom, and place it among the developed countries in this field, citing Dr. Al-Nuaimi’s interest in integrating students with special needs in public schools, and supporting national schools that provide this type of education.

Alia School which used to have a limited number of classes, now has many classes covering all educational stages with up to 450 students, he said, adding that Al Awali National School will accommodate up to 1,200 students upon completion.

Then the minister laid the foundation stone for Al-Awwal National School, which includes all stages from kindergarten to secondary school.

Established in 2006, Alia National School provides educational services to integrate students with special needs in an educational environment that takes into account their circumstances and meets their needs.
