We are hiring a Senior Consultant with experience in Transplant Immunology, Histocompatibility and Immunogenetics to work in the Qatari public sector.

Main duties
The incumbent will act as a Senior Consultant and additionally will be the Director of the HLA and Immunology Laboratory. The Senior Consultant/Director is the most senior practicing physician in a particular specialty who is responsible for overseeing his team of consultants and junior physicians and manages other team members. The Senior Consultant is responsible for the care of all patients admitted in his/her name and for all clinical decisions made by other physicians under his or her supervision.
The job holder must also have the ability to communicate well with others and use interpersonal skills to achieve desired goals, recognizing the need to represent both clinical and team work as well as providing high quality patient care (diagnostics, treatment, management and admission of patients under his/her name).
Other responsibilities include service development, financing, budgets, staffing, and education and training of junior doctors.
Essentially, the Senior Consultant must have professional clinical competence and leadership and management skills.
Research is an essential and integral component of our clients’ strategic goal to become an academic health system. The position holder must be able to contribute to the delivery of an integrated strategic vision and planning for clinics, research, education and training that improve the quality of patient care.

Advanced training and experience in immunology
Advanced training and experience in clinical laboratory immunology
Histocompatibility and immunogenetics
– Proven scholarship track record (publications, presentations, etc.)
Effective professional and social communication skills.

Basic education (minimum one of the below).
Arab Board of Health Specializations
– USA – American Board of Medical Specialties (ABMS)
– Canada – Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons (RCPS-C)
– UK – GMC/CCST Specialist Register
– Germany – Fachartz Specialist . Certified
Sweden – Swedish Board
– Australia and New Zealand – Fellowship from the Royal Australian and New Zealand Colleges
– The registration of specialists from other countries will be considered after the equivalence review
Basic experience
Senior Consultants with Western qualifications must have held the position of Senior Consultant at least
1 year or 6 years consultant experience required.
