DERASAT set to conduct pre-election survey

Manama, October 10 (BNA) The Bahrain Center for Strategic, International and Energy Studies (Dirasat) announced that it will conduct a random survey before the elections.

“A random sample of citizens from the four governorates will be polled about the upcoming parliamentary and municipal elections that will take place in November 2022,” said Dr. Sheikh Abdullah bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, Chairman of Derasat’s Board of Trustees.

The poll aims to measure voters’ attitudes towards participating in the parliamentary and municipal elections, to get to know their views on the performance of the previous parliament and municipal councils.

It also seeks to define the aspirations of voters for parliamentary and municipal work in the next session, contribute to supporting the electoral process and show the extent of citizens’ eagerness to participate in voting.

Dr. Sheikh Abdullah highlighted the role of the think tank in supporting the electoral process and dealing with issues directly related to key national affairs.

He said that the upcoming elections represent a qualitative leap in Bahrain, praising His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister.

Ijlal Bubashit, director of opinion polls at Derasat, said that the survey will be based on a random sample distributed over all Bahrain governorates, and includes age groups from 20 years and above.

Data will be collected through DERASAT media platforms, phone calls, SMS, email and face-to-face interviews by qualified personnel to answer a specially designed questionnaire.
