Responsibilities:

Lead the process of ingesting, understanding and managing primary/aggregated digital and television data with a strong focus on audiences (eg subscribers, users, viewers), content (eg genre, software) and technology usage (eg apps, VOD, web, social media) ,

Assist in implementing valuable metrics and data analysis techniques (such as digital attribution, time series, descriptive modeling, lifetime value, momentum slope, and behavioral segments) in the Amazon Web Services Big Data platform to enhance overall TV and digital business performance.

Work on large primary databases and aggregate audience/subscriber datasets at the individual level from Linear TV, Digital, VOD, SVOD platforms and applications.

Performs data sanitization, health checking and validation on top of Redshift (DWH) tables for reporting/analysis purposes using SQL workbench, Python, Map to reduce and Lambda.

Support data scientists and Head of Analytics with tasks related to data engineering and data processing to analyze the root cause of changes in audience or subscriber behavior patterns.

Support Data Scientists and Head of Analytics in building the correct data warehouse table and calculating the correct KPIs/KPIs for upcoming data products from:

Back path data

Data related to mobile applications

Web related data (google analytics, google Big Query)

Web-linked social media data Click Stream

TV/Radio audience data

VOD

Assist in data restructuring/normalization/merging/processing in both express transaction MBC group data assets or external raw search data such as: brand image trackers, segmentation, U&A etc…

· Assist in developing applications, simulations and macros.

Lead regular data quality checks.

Act as the sole source and point of contact for data related matters.

Work closely with Techops and the Big Data Architect for future implementations.

requirements:

2-4 years experience in a similar role

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Actuarial Science, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline from a reputable university

Experience in mentoring and managing junior data engineers

Strong experience in the digital data world (eg web, Google, Adobe)

Minimum 4 years experience in Big Data platform.

Strong knowledge and experience in using big data engineering tools and languages ​​(eg Python, Lambda, SQL Workbench, Map to reduce, SPARK, Lambda)

Understand standard digital technologies used in on-demand commerce, e-commerce and subscription services including cookies, routing, and working with tag management data, data layers or SDKs and ad serving technologies,

Good knowledge of data visualization software (Tableau, Business Objects, Qlick, Microsoft) an added advantage.

· Fluency in English is a must

Deep understanding of data structuring and querying using SQL, Python, Lambda and Map Minimization.

Experience with AWS data lake configuration and stack (Airflow, Glue, EMR, S3, Athena, Spectrum)

Knowledge of data blending for a multi-source data set in the Amazon Web Services environment.

· Knowledge in Excel and Macros / VBA programming.

Advanced skills in R, SPARK and SPSS (Statistical Package for Social Sciences) are an added advantage.

Good knowledge of big data query tools, such as HADOOP, Pig, Hive and Impala is an added advantage.

Ability to write ETLs for new organizations, databases, applications, and macros using SQL SSIS.
