DANAT receives Ambassador to Israel

Manama, September 11 (BNA) The Ambassador of the Kingdom of Bahrain to Israel, Khalid bin Yousef Al-Jalahma, visited the Bahrain Institute of Pearls and Gemstones (Danat).

The ambassador was briefed on the local, regional and international services provided by the institute, including research studies, training programs and activities on pearls and precious stones. Also explore the services provided by the Danat Pearl and Gemstone Testing Laboratory in verifying and certifying pearls, gemstones, coral, amber and more.

Ambassador Nora Jamsheer met the CEO of Danat and discussed the institute’s active role in realizing Bahrain’s vision to revive the pearling industry in addition to its efforts in promoting pearl trade inside and outside the Kingdom.

The two sides also discussed setting up an executive program to develop the Bahraini-Israeli relations in the fields of scientific research, technology, trade and the jewelry sector. The program aims to enable Israel to benefit from Danat’s leading expertise in this field, and to allow DANAT to use advanced Israeli diamond technology.

The two sides stressed the vital role that pearls, diamonds and precious stones play in economic and bilateral trade relations. They highlighted the importance of cooperation and its role in developing the strengths of the sector as jewelry, especially diamonds, is deeply rooted in the Israeli economy.

In March, Israeli Ambassador to Bahrain Eitan Naeh visited Danat to launch a cooperative program between the two countries. In addition to its partnership with Malca-Amit, DANAT has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the aim of participating in projects of mutual interest in the transportation and storage of collectibles and precious metals in Bahrain.
