DAFZA, Export Bahrain sign cooperation agreement

Dubai, November 22 (BNA): Dubai Airport Free Zone Authority (DAFZA) has signed a strategic cooperation agreement with Export Bahrain.

The deal establishes frameworks for technical cooperation to support their joint efforts in institutional development, facilitation of commercial activities, support of companies and their plans for growth and expansion, and the exchange of information and expertise.

The agreement grants Export Bahrain access to international companies that have set up their headquarters in the Dubai Airport Free Zone to support Bahraini exporters in accordance with the framework established by the agreement.

DAFZA will grant access to companies supported by Export Bahrain to work on improving the companies’ relationships with their counterparts in the Dubai Airport Free Zone, exchanging information, services and offerings.

The two sides will cooperate in organizing activities, workshops, seminars and conferences to support the establishment of relations between companies, in addition to cooperation in research and development and other related fields.

The agreement facilitates companies with a network of relationships and partnerships, helps them expand into target markets, and reach the largest possible base of customers and consumers.

“This agreement is also the cornerstone of strategic cooperation that benefits both sides and their short and long-term goals.

She added that it represents a starting point for active cooperation that enhances the offers offered by the Dubai Airport Free Zone and Export Bahrain, especially during the next phase that will witness the recovery from the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic on the economic sectors.

Abdul Khaleq said: “Signing this MoU with DAFZA comes as part of our strategic plans to continue establishing a network of strong relationships with key regional and international partners, to enhance the operations of SMEs by providing them with access to additional facilities and potential growth opportunities.

The MoU allows SME exporters in Bahrain to take advantage of the supporting facilities offered by DAFZA, such as a business-friendly environment, world-class infrastructure, tax breaks, etc., to meet their regional and global export aspirations. She added that this step provides a framework that will allow both sides to implement an integrated practice to enable companies within each party’s jurisdiction to grow their businesses in the region and beyond.

Export Bahrain continues its efforts to support non-oil exports by expanding business development services, by providing a package of high-quality services and solutions to help companies access foreign markets and help develop and diversify Bahraini products.
