Baku, May 1 (BNA): Chief of Customs Sheikh Ahmed bin Hamad Al Khalifa visited Azerbaijan, where he was received by Lieutenant General Shahin Baghirov, Head of Azerbaijani Customs.
Sheikh Ahmed bin Hamad praised the high-level customs cooperation and coordination between the two friendly countries and the joint keenness to enhance the exchange of expertise and successful experiences in a way that contributes to the development of customs work.
During the meeting, they reviewed aspects of cooperation and coordination and followed up on the implementation of the memorandum of cooperation that was signed between the customs authorities. They also reviewed issues of customs controls, artificial intelligence, and freight operations.
The Head of Customs also visited the European Regional Office for Capacity Building to learn more about the facilities equipped for e-training. At the end of the visit, he thanked his counterpart, stressing his keenness to enhance cooperation.
