Customs Affairs selects four innovative ideas

Manama, May 15 (BNA): Customs Affairs launched the “Best Idea” for its subsidiaries as part of efforts to achieve the sustainable development strategy (2021-2024) in line with the government’s action plan, economic vision 2030 and the policies of the World Customs Organization (WCO).

The initiative aims to create a work environment that embraces innovation and encourages creativity to raise the quality of work, in line with the approach of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister.

This step also comes in implementation of the directives of the Minister of Interior, Lieutenant General Sheikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, to follow up with His Excellency the President of Customs, Sheikh Ahmed bin Hamad Al Khalifa, to achieve the Customs Strategy 2021-2024.

Four main ideas were selected out of 34 that were under discussion and referred to the relevant directorates to be implemented.

The winning ideas included:


(Invoice Calculator) – Submitted by the employee Rashid Abdul Rahman Al-Tamimi from the Land Ports Customs Department.



Imported Vehicle Evaluation Application – Submitted by employee Abdullah Ibrahim Al-Maliki from the Seaports Customs Administration.


Oleg Customs – Submitted by employees Fatima Rashid Al-Jar and Sheikha Hassan Jameel (Department of Control and Performance Follow-up) and employee Muad Al-Jowder (Department of Legal Affairs).


Switching from manual checks to smart checks – Submitted by employee Youssef Ahmed Bodulama (Airports Customs Directorate).
