Customs Affairs Chief inspects Seaports Directorate Customs

Manama, May 8 (BNA): Head of Customs Affairs, Shaikh Ahmed bin Hamad Al Khalifa, today visited the Seaports Customs Directorate and inspected the implementation of programs and the use of high-tech equipment that support economic development and contribute to stimulating growth.

The Director of Customs Affairs conveyed the thanks of the Minister of Interior, Lieutenant General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, to all the employees of the Directorate, praising their role in facilitating the transit of logistics services, goods and passenger movement.

He also praised the vigilance that enabled them to thwart the smuggling of narcotic substances, the value of which was estimated at about 700 thousand dinars.
