Cost of UK support to cap energy bills to be set out on Friday

London, September 22 (BNA) The British government will set on Friday the cost of capping energy prices for homes and businesses over the next few months to help protect people from high electricity bills, a spokeswoman for British Prime Minister Liz Truss said.

The government pledged on Wednesday to cut electricity and gas costs for businesses at less than half the market price, Reuters reported.

Finance Minister Kwasi Quarting plans to release a financial statement on Friday explaining his plans to support families and businesses during the coming winter.

“Costs will be determined at the expected financial event on Friday,” a Truss spokeswoman told reporters.
