BTEA CEO receives US Congress staffers delegation 

Manama, May 24 (BNA): Dr. Nasser Qaedi, CEO of the Bahrain Tourism and Exhibitions Authority, received a delegation of US Congressmen representing the Senate and House of Representatives.

During the meeting, Dr. Qaidi reviewed the authority’s latest achievements, initiatives and tourism programs aimed at raising the performance of the tourism sector in the Kingdom.

He also highlighted the new tourism strategy (2022-2026), which aims to maximize the contribution of tourism to the gross domestic product, diversify tourism products, and attract greater numbers of tourists from all nationalities around the world.

Dr. Qaidi discussed the efforts of the Bahrain Tourism Authority to increase the number of American tourists visiting Bahrain, with a focus on the United States market as one of the 19 targeted markets in the new tourism strategy due to the high average tourist spending and tourist nights spent.

The CEO of BTEA briefed the American delegation on the latest tourism projects under implementation in all governorates, in addition to efforts to develop tourism infrastructure and increase the number of hospitality establishments and hotels to meet the growing demand in the Kingdom for tourism facilities.

On this occasion, Dr. Nasser Qaidi, CEO of the Bahrain Tourism and Exhibitions Authority, stated: “We are pleased to receive the American delegation to inform them of the latest tourism projects in the Kingdom.
