BTEA, Air Arabia unite to take Bahrain’s tourism to new heights

Manama, May 5 (BNA): The Bahrain Tourism and Exhibitions Authority and Air Arabia signed a partnership agreement to boost the tourism sector in the Kingdom of Bahrain. The partnership aims to increase Bahrain’s regional and international attractiveness by promoting new tourist destinations, expanding facilities and diversifying services.

The partnership, signed at the Arabian Travel Market in Dubai, will focus on promoting Bahrain as a leading tourism destination for meetings, conferences, entertainment and weddings. The partnership will focus specifically on three key markets – the UAE, India and Russia. Through this cooperation, Bahrain is poised to take the tourism industry to new heights, providing travelers with an unparalleled experience in the heart of the Gulf.

The partnership was signed by the Minister of Tourism and President of the Bahrain Tourism Syndicate, Fatima bint Jaafar Al-Serafi, and the global sales director of Air Arabia, Shalini Rajan. Also present at the signing were ISC Regional Director, Far East, Rajesh Narula, Head of Tourism Marketing at the Bahrain Tourism and Travel Authority, Sally Sidqi, and Senior Tourism Relations Specialist at BTEA, Eyad Al Ansari.

Al-Serafi stressed in a statement during the signing ceremony the importance of cooperation with Air Arabia, the leading economic carrier in the Middle East and North Africa region. This partnership is expected to foster greater cooperation between the two parties and help the Bahrain Authority for Tourism and National Heritage promote tourism destinations in Bahrain to a global audience. Moreover, the partnership is expected to boost the arrival of international tourism to the Kingdom, thanks to Air Arabia’s vast network of destinations.

The Minister of Tourism confirmed that this partnership is in line with the tourism strategy of the Kingdom of Bahrain 2022-2026 and its objectives. The strategy focuses on several pillars, including business tourism, which gained significant momentum after the opening of the Bahrain World Expo. This world-class facility has the capacity to host major regional and international events, conferences and exhibitions, making it an ideal venue to drive the growth of business tourism in Bahrain.

Al-Serafi stressed that cooperation with Air Arabia is a strategic partnership aimed at promoting the growth of the travel and tourism sector in Bahrain. The partnership also seeks to strengthen consultation and cooperation mechanisms in vital areas such as safety, air navigation, security, environment and air transport. These efforts are necessary to ensure the sustainable development of joint promotional campaigns that can increase awareness of tourism destinations in Bahrain and motivate more tourists to visit the country.

The minister stressed that this agreement is a decisive step towards strengthening cooperation between the Kingdom of Bahrain and the United Arab Emirates in various fields of the tourism industry. This also confirms the serious efforts of both countries to strengthen bilateral relations and promote further growth and development in the tourism sector. By prioritizing joint efforts to boost tourism, these two countries can reap the economic and social benefits of increased visitor numbers and stronger industrial cooperation.
