Britney Spears thanks #FreeBritney fans after dad’s removal

LOS ANGELES, OCTOBER 5 (US): Britney Spears has thanked fans who have for years called for #FreeBritney to make major changes to the guardianship that has always controlled her life and money.

Spears’ identical Twitter and Instagram posts on Monday were her first public comments on the case since a judge suspended her father as trustee of her property last week, a move she has long hoped for, according to the Associated Press.

“The #FreeBritney movement…I have no words…because of you guys and your continued flexibility in freeing me from my will…my life is now in that direction!!!!!” Spears said in the posts, along with a short silent video of her. “I cried last night for two hours because my fans are the best and I know it… I feel your hearts and you feel my heart… I know so much it’s true.”

Spears has not been fully released from custody. The legal arrangement in place since 2008 remains, except for her father, but may be terminated at the November 12 hearing.

While fans are constantly looking for candid comments about her sponsorship in her Instagram posts, the singer rarely writes about her directly on social media.

Her attorney, Matthew Rosengart, pledged to pursue the investigation of her father, James Spears, and his handling of guardianship even after his dismissal.

James Spears’ lawyers said there were no grounds to impeach him, that his actions were always based on his daughter’s best interest, and that his suspension was “a loss for Britney.”
