Riyadh, Jan. 11 (BNA) The Director General of Bahrain News Agency, Abdullah Khalil Buheji, participated in the work of the 48th General Assembly of the Federation of Arab News Agencies (FANA).
The Saudi Press Agency (SPA) hosted the two-day symposium in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, under the theme “The Role of News Agencies in Confronting False News”.
Buheji stressed the importance of the meeting, which is taking place amid global pitfalls caused by the new Corona virus (Covid-19), stressing the role of the media in spreading societal awareness to combat the epidemic and highlighting Arab efforts to protect public health.
He stressed the pivotal role that news agencies play in exposing false news, adding that official news agencies confirmed their credibility through their news and reports.
He described the gathering as an opportunity to enhance cooperation between Arab news agencies, thanking SPA Chairman Dr. Majid bin Abdullah Al-Qasabi, SPA President Fahd bin Hassan Al-Aqran and all conference organizers for their efforts.
The Director General of the Agency expressed his hope that the results of the conference would contribute to further strengthening the work of Arab news agencies and enhancing their ability to deal with current challenges and keep pace with the steps of communication and information technology.
