Biden urges booster shots for those eligible

WASHINGTON, Sept. 24 (BUS): President Joe Biden has urged those who are now eligible to get COVID-19 booster shots to get additional protection. His appeal comes a day after the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention approved doses for millions of elderly and at-risk Americans.

The director of the Center for Disease Control, Dr. Rochelle Walinsky, on a series of recommendations from a panel of advisors late Thursday. Biden praised the decision and aimed to set aside any concern about vaccination by saying he would get his own booster dose soon, the Associated Press reported.

Counselors say boosters should be offered to people 65 and older, nursing home residents and those aged 50 to 64 with underlying risky health problems. The extra dose will be given once at least six months have passed after your last dose of Pfizer.
