Manama, November 20 (BNA) The Chief Executive Officer of the Information and eGovernment Authority, Muhammad Ali Qaid, headed a delegation from the Kingdom of Bahrain on a visit to the headquarters of the Saudi Data and Artificial Intelligence Authority (SDAIA) in Riyadh. He was received by the head of the authority, Dr. Abdullah bin Sharaf Al-Ghamdi, and a number of officials. The visit came on the sidelines of a memorandum of understanding signed between the two kingdoms to link the BeAware Bahrain and “Tawakulna” applications with each other.
The delegation was joined by the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Health, Dr. Walid Khalifa Al-Manea. The Information and eGovernment Authority, Executive Vice President for Operations and Governance, Dr. Khaled Ahmed Al-Mutawa. Ministry of Foreign Affairs – Head of Coordination and Follow-up – Acting Director of Information Systems Ambassador Ali Jassim Ahmed Al-Aradi. The Ministry of the Interior, Director of the Ports and Passports Department, Lt. Col. Fawaz Nasser Al-Jeeran. Ahmed Abdel Wahab Al Balushi, Acting Director of Electronic Services and Channel Development; In the presence of Ambassador Sheikh Hamoud bin Abdullah Al Khalifa.
Dr. Al-Ghamdi welcomed the Bahrain delegation and praised the strong relations that bind the two countries. He pointed to the importance of cooperation across fields, including technical areas such as electronic services and electronic systems that enhance the performance of government agencies and meet the needs of citizens.
He gave the delegation a detailed overview of the Authority’s most important projects and achievements, including the implementation of “Tawakulna” and future plans to enhance its role in limiting the spread of the Corona virus (Covid-19) and providing more services to the Saudi public.
The delegation was also briefed on the SDAIA Foresight Initiative, which uses big data to identify future opportunities. Ihsan Charity Platform. And the experiences of Saudi Arabia in the dissemination and application of artificial intelligence.
The leader said that Saudi Arabia has extensive experience with digital initiatives, especially when it comes to technology deployment, advanced systems, and electronic services. Its innovations and achievements in the field of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) have helped establish its position regionally and globally.
The leader welcomed the increased cooperation in the field of digital transformation. Share some of Bahrain’s most notable ICT achievements, including the BeAware Bahrain application and e-services that have helped simplify procedures and transactions, saving time and overall effort.
Both parties acknowledged the importance of benefiting from advanced technology and exchanging information, which leads to innovation and competitiveness and helps in attracting investment.
