Bahrain wins UNESCO’s IBE membership

Manama, November 27 (BNA): The Kingdom of Bahrain won the membership of the International Bureau for Education (IBE) of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO), as a representative of the Arab countries, during the general meeting of UNESCO. The conference in France and its committee meetings.

The Minister of Education, Dr. Majid bin Ali Al Nuaimi, extended his sincere congratulations to His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister on this occasion.

He stressed that the new achievement proves the distinguished position that the Kingdom enjoys thanks to the wise leadership of His Majesty King Hamad in all fields, including education, which highlights UNESCO’s respect and appreciation for the Kingdom.

Established in 1925 as a private non-governmental organization, the International Bureau of Education became an integral part of UNESCO in 1969.

Its mission is to enhance the capacity of Member States to design, develop and implement curricula that ensure equity, quality, development relevance and resource efficiency for teaching and learning systems.
