Bahrain to host Asian Wrestling Championship

Manama, June 298 (BNA) Bahrain will host the first edition of the Asian Wrestling Championship under 15 and under 20 from July 2 to 10 at Khalifa Sports City Stadium.

The Bahrain Wrestling Association organizes the competition in cooperation with the Bahrain Martial Arts Council and the Asian Wrestling Federation under the supervision of the International Wrestling Federation.

A total of 675 wrestlers representing 17 countries will participate in the tournament – Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, Jordan, Iraq, Syria, India, Iran, China, Japan, Kazakhstan and Korea.

Kyrgyzstan, Mongolia, Sri Lanka, Tajikistan, Taiwan and Uzbekistan will also participate in the competition, which will be run by 49 referees accredited by the International Wrestling Federation.

The organizing committee said that all preparations and arrangements have been made to ensure the success of the continental championship.
