Bahrain sends medical team to Syrian earthquake victims

Damascus, Feb. 27 (BNA): The Secretary-General of the Royal Humanitarian Foundation, the National Committee for Supporting Earthquake Victims in Syria, and the CEO of Turkey, Dr. Mustafa Al-Sayed, signed a memorandum of understanding with the Syrian Doctors Syndicate. The Council, Dr. Ghassan Fendi, and in the presence of the President of the Bahrain Medical Association, Dr. Amer Al-Derazi.

The signing of the memorandum comes in implementation of the royal directives of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, to confront the repercussions and damages of the earthquake in Syria.

The Secretary-General said that a group of volunteer Bahraini doctors will be sent by the Bahrain Medical Society to contribute to the treatment of the victims of the devastating earthquake that occurred in Syria and to provide some necessary medical supplies.

Fandi expressed his deep appreciation to the Kingdom, its leadership, government and people for their assistance to their brothers in Syria.

He affirmed the Syrian people’s pride in Bahrain’s position during the painful crisis, and praised the historical relations between the two countries.

Dr. Al-Derazi stressed the efforts and initiatives of the Society, in cooperation with the King Hussein Cancer Foundation and the National Committee for Supporting Earthquake Victims in Syria and Turkey, to send Bahraini doctors willing to volunteer to help their Syrian brothers in this humanitarian disaster and provide them with relief. affected by the devastating earthquake.
