Bahrain Science Centre for SDGs, AIESEC Bahrain sign agreement

Manama, June 25 (BNA) The Bahrain Science Center for Sustainable Development Goals (BSC for SDGs) at the Ministry of Youth and Sports Affairs signed an agreement with AIESEC to sponsor the “Gaya” initiative.

The agreement was signed by the Chairman of AIESEC Bahrain, Oman Abdul Aziz Ayoub, and the Director of the Bahrain Science Center for Sustainable Development Goals, Latifa Al Mutaiwee.

The agreement aims to enhance joint cooperation between the Bahrain Science Center for Sustainable Development Goals and AIESEC International in support of the “Gaia” program, in addition to providing opportunities for young people to engage in sustainable projects that benefit social, economic and environmental aspects and contribute to achieving sustainable development goals.

The agreement stresses the importance of the role of the Ministry of Youth and Sports Affairs and the Bahrain Science Center for Sustainable Development Goals in creating the appropriate climate and operating partnerships for the benefit of youth and institutions between all governmental and private sectors, in order to provide a fair and open competitive environment.

The Ghaya initiative is a training development program that provides youth in Bahrain with training opportunities to gain experience in the field of social entrepreneurship. The first edition of Ghaya specifically offers 10 practical training opportunities in social entrepreneurship organizations and companies in Bahrain to develop the practical skills of the trainees and provide them with an opportunity to understand social entrepreneurship in Bahrain.

AIESEC is a youth-run, international non-governmental, non-profit organization that provides youth with leadership development, cross-cultural training, and global volunteer exchange experiences.
