Bahrain participates in International Day of Human Fraternity


New York, Feb. 8 (BNA): The Permanent Representative of the Kingdom of Bahrain to the United Nations in New York, Ambassador Jamal Faris Al-Ruwaie, participated in the celebration of the third session of the International Day of Human Fraternity.

He affirmed that Bahrain under the leadership of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and with the support of the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, has taken many initiatives to spread a culture of tolerance. And peace based on its experience as a country that embraces different religions and cultures.

The celebration of the International Day of Human Fraternity, organized by the United Nations Alliance of Civilizations, and the permanent missions of the UAE and Egypt, with the participation of the Secretary-General of the United Nations, Antonio Guterres, and a number of officials and representatives from the member states of the organization.

The ambassador said that the establishment of the King Hamad Global Center for Peaceful Coexistence aims to promote religious freedom, interfaith dialogue, peaceful coexistence, human diversity, combating terrorism, extremism, violence and hatred, as well as the King Hamad Electronic Center. Peace and the King Hamad Chair for Interfaith Dialogue and Peaceful Coexistence at Sapienza University in Italy and the Declaration of the Kingdom of Bahrain.

The ambassador also highlighted the Isa Award for Service to Humanity, which aims to recognize and reward the contributions of those who want to change the world for the better through their knowledge and hard work for a better world for future generations.

The ambassador stressed the Kingdom of Bahrain’s organization of the Bahrain Forum for Dialogue “East and West for Human Coexistence” last November, which included sessions that highlighted the promotion of global coexistence, human brotherhood, dialogue and peaceful coexistence, with the participation of His Holiness the Pope. Francis, Pope of the Vatican, His Eminence the Grand Imam, Dr. Ahmed Al-Tayyib, Sheikh Al-Azhar Al-Sharif, Chairman of the Council of Muslim Elders, and a number of prominent intellectual figures and representatives of religions from different countries of the world. the world.

The ambassador also stressed the recent inauguration of the Declaration of the Kingdom of Bahrain in Rome, which represents a milestone in promoting the values ​​and principles of peaceful coexistence in all its forms.
