Bahrain moon-sighting panel to meet on Saturday

Manama, April 29 (BNA) The Crescent Control Authority will meet tomorrow evening, Saturday, to receive news and testimonies about the birth of the new crescent for the month of Shawwal for the year 1443 AH, marking the arrival of Eid al-Fitr.

It was announced that the committee would meet at the headquarters of the Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs on Saturday evening (April 30).

The Supreme Media Council urged the public who see the new Shawwal crescent to contact the Crescent Sighting Committee.

Seeing the moon means the end of Ramadan, the ninth month on the lunar calendar.

In the Islamic calendar, Ramadan follows the month of Shawwal. The first three days of the month are celebrated as Eid al-Fitr.

The Council wished the Kingdom of Bahrain and its loyal people more security, progress and prosperity, under the wise leadership of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, and with the support of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister. .
