Bahrain evacuees arrive safely from Sudan

Manama, April 30 (BNA): The Bahraini Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced the safe evacuation of 92 Bahraini citizens and residents of other nationalities from Sudan.

This step comes in implementation of the directives of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, with the support of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister.

The ministry said that those stranded in the Republic of Sudan arrived at Bahrain International Airport, coming from the city of Jeddah, which belongs to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

The Consulate General of the Kingdom of Bahrain in Jeddah provided all necessary care and support to the evacuees before their departure to the Kingdom of Bahrain this morning. They were evacuated to Port Sudan to the city of Jeddah on board HMS Riyadh.

Another batch of citizens and residents arrived in Bahrain today from Sudan as part of the evacuations carried out by the United Arab Emirates.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs coordinated with the Ministries of Interior and Health to receive the evacuees at Bahrain International Airport and facilitate procedures for them.

In a statement today, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs called on the parties to stop the clashes, avoid escalation, and engage in dialogue to reach peaceful solutions that preserve Sudan’s security and stability.
