Bahrain condemns Israeli settlers’ storming of Al-Aqsa Mosque

Manama, May 30 (BNA) The Kingdom of Bahrain strongly condemned the storming of the Al-Aqsa Mosque by extremist Israeli settlers under the protection of the Israeli police, provoking the feelings of Muslims.


In a statement, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs stressed the need to respect the historical and legal situation in Jerusalem, without prejudice to the role of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan in managing and protecting the holy sites under international law, and the need for the Israeli authorities to prevent any actions or practices aimed at targeting the Arab, Islamic and Christian identity of Jerusalem and its sanctities, and to prevent any Provocative actions that would provoke tension, violence and hatred.


The ministry renewed its call on the international community to assume its responsibilities in supporting the legitimate rights of the brotherly Palestinian people to establish their independent state with East Jerusalem as its capital, in accordance with the two-state solution and international legitimacy resolutions.
