Brasilia, April 19 (BNA): The Ambassador of the Kingdom of Bahrain to the Federative Republic of Brazil, Bader Abbas Al-Halibi, in cooperation with the Embassy of the United Arab Emirates in Brasilia, held a Ramadan Iftar banquet.
In his speech on the occasion, the ambassador indicated that the month of Ramadan promotes the values of tolerance, coexistence and human brotherhood, which are also an integral part of the national identity of the Kingdom of Bahrain.
He pointed out that Bahrain and the UAE are working to promote cultural pluralism, as they host more than 200 nationalities that enjoy a decent life and respect.
“The capitals of the two countries have become a crossroads where civilizations of East and West meet to promote peace and rapprochement between peoples,” he said.
He said that Bahrain has many churches, temples, Hindu temples and places of worship for all religions to practice their religious rites, pointing to the launch of the “Declaration of the Kingdom of Bahrain” in 2017, which is an international document on the concept of human coexistence that led to the establishment of the “King Hamad Global Center for Peaceful Coexistence”.
“This international document also stems from the historical foundations of peaceful coexistence in the Kingdom of Bahrain, whose roots go back hundreds of years,” he added.
The country’s ambassador, Ahmed Al Suwaidi, also delivered a speech at the ceremony, highlighting the contributions of the UAE in supporting peace and intercultural relations based on respect, tolerance and peaceful coexistence, which stem from the visions of the founders and the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan. Al Nahyan. He pointed out that the UAE celebrated Zayed Humanitarian Work Day on April 10.
Ambassador Sidney Romero, Director of the Middle East Department at the Brazilian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, delivered a speech in which he praised the policies of tolerance and coexistence in the Kingdom of Bahrain and the United Arab Emirates.
