Bahrain Ambassador to London meets British minister

Manama, September 23 (BNA) The Ambassador of the Kingdom of Bahrain in London, Sheikh Fawaz bin Mohammed Al Khalifa, Minister of State for the Middle East and North Africa at the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO) met James Cleverly to discuss issues of mutual interest.

He intelligently praised the supportive role played by the Kingdom of Bahrain in the evacuation operations from Afghanistan, and stressed the distinguished bilateral relations between the two friendly countries, especially in the security and defense fields.

He stressed the UK’s keenness to continue to promote strong partnerships between the UK and friendly countries and allies, at the bilateral and multilateral levels.

The ambassador expressed his pride in the strong historical relations between the two friendly countries, looking forward to achieving more fruitful bilateral cooperation and coordination with the United Kingdom.

The two sides also discussed preparations for the meeting of the British-Bahraini joint working group to be held in London in November 2021, and reviewed the role of the Kingdom of Bahrain in the evacuations from Afghanistan.

The two sides also reviewed the trade relations between the United Kingdom and the Gulf Cooperation Council countries, expressing their aspiration to work together to achieve broader levels in this regard and to enhance intra-regional trade to achieve more prosperity for the peoples of the region.
