Assistant Purchasing Manager (fixed term contract until January 2023)

What will you do:
-Assist the Group Procurement Manager in establishing a system for effective control of departmental procedures
To control that all procurement policies and procedures are followed and in compliance with local regulations
To ensure that all contracts and agreements with external parties are recorded and maintained
To support the Group Purchasing Manager in the day-to-day running of the Purchasing Department with a team of more than 20 employees
To control the validity of the monthly reports, in line with policies and procedures and submit them to the deadline
Ensure professional cooperation with other departments and external parties
You will submit your reports directly to the Group Procurement Manager.
Your experience and skills include:
Experience in procurement in the hospitality sector is a must, preferably in Qatar
Fluent in English (spoken and written), any additional language is an added advantage
– At least 8 years of experience in the procurement field
Minimum 3 years experience in a similar position in a large scale property
Proven track record in creating, executing and executing strategic procurement
Demonstrate strong analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills
Experience in producing procurement process documents
Strong experience in the supply chain strategy process
– Supervising the optimum performance of suppliers
Develop and nurture critical supplier relationships
Good relationships with stakeholders – internally and externally
– High standards of customer service

Experience working on complex projects, creating solutions and delivering business value

– Completing financial operations from raising purchase orders to settling budget items and finishing

– Proven ability to build and maintain good relationships with all stakeholders
Good knowledge of procurement software systems
– Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel
Experience leading teams of 20+ members
