Ambassador in London meets with Commissioner of Metropolitan Police

London, Feb. 2 (BNA): At the invitation of the Dean of the Arab Diplomatic Corps and Ambassador of Bahrain to the United Kingdom, Sheikh Fawaz bin Mohammed Al Khalifa, the ambassadors of the Cooperation Council countries to the United Kingdom met with the Commissioner of the Capital Police. The ambassadors pointed out the importance of ensuring the security of embassies of the Gulf Cooperation Council countries and the security of Gulf tourists in the United Kingdom.

They also expressed their deep appreciation for the addition of the GCC countries to the electronic visa waiver for travel to the United Kingdom, which will be effective in the second half of 2023.

The Ambassadors welcomed the proactive work being done by the Metropolitan Police to tackle and crack down on those who target visitors to London, including a massive police presence on the roads, as well as ongoing efforts to combat fraud and cybercrime.

The two sides discussed British-Gulf cooperation in issues of combating terrorism and organized crime, and welcomed the opportunity to increase dialogue and periodic meetings between embassies and the Capital Police to review common issues and issues.
