Alba sets an all-time production record of 1,561,222 MT in 2021

Manama, January 5 (BNA): Aluminum Bahrain B.S.C. (Alba), the world’s largest smelter outside of China, set an operating record of 1,561,222 metric tons in 2021 as it completes the golden jubilee of its operations.

In addition, Alba achieved a milestone in safety by closing 2021 with more than 20 million safe working hours without lost working time – for the first time in the company’s 50 years of business operations.

Commenting on these accomplishments, Alba CEO Ali Al Baqali said:

Against all odds, we finished 2021 with exceptional performance by achieving new highs in our production – 1,561,222 metric tons and achieving our best production record for 2020 of 1,548,500 metric tons. What makes this achievement even more important to us is that we managed to achieve it without a single Lost Time Injury (LTI).

I take this opportunity to thank our employees and contractors for taking Alba to new heights thanks to their dedication and commitment.”

A brief ceremony, attended by executive management and employees, was held on Wednesday January 5, 2022 to celebrate the company’s all-time production record.

Aluminum Bahrain B.S.C. (Alba) announced its financial results for the fourth quarter of 2021 and the full year of 2021 on Thursday, February 10, 2022.
