Alba rolls out ESG Roadmap

Manama, April 27 (BNA): The CEO of Aluminum Bahrain (Alba) Ali Al Baqali announced the environmental, social and governance roadmap approved for the company by the Board of Directors.

This came as part of the company’s commitment to Bahrain’s goal of “net zero emissions by 2060” led by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, and the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). ).

The ESG roadmap highlights six strategic priorities over the years: decarbonization, green energy and aluminum, circular economy and secondary aluminum, employee welfare, collaboration and partnership, transparency, communications and due diligence.

“As the world’s largest aluminum smelter outside of China, we have a responsibility to make the right decision today for a better tomorrow. Alba’s CEO Ali Al Baqali said, “Alba’s ESG Roadmap is a comprehensive approach that integrates our ambitious goals to address the challenges that will affect us.” It will affect us.”


“The six priority areas identified in the roadmap will accelerate our pace to increase sustainable value for our people and society.”

Led by the CEO, a special committee of the ESG Task Force has also been established to evaluate ESG-related initiatives for each of the six priorities and monitor the company’s achievements.
