Al Jasra Crafts Center to host creative workshops

Manama, October 13 (BUS): This month, Al Jasra Craft Center presents a series of workshops and craft training, from handicrafts to creative industries.

Activities are open to all, and those interested in crafts and handicrafts can register through the website of the Culture Authority www.culture.gov.bh

The Center, through the Creative Crafts and Industries Program, held its first workshop on the Japanese art of “amigurumi”.

It also hosted a workshop on candle making in cooperation with the Bahrain Creative Youth Foundation, a hand-printing workshop, in which the participants learned about the artistic methods of colored drawing, and the “Mosaic Mirrors” workshop in cooperation with Meraki Art, in which the participants participated. I learned how to decorate surfaces with glass and ceramics.

The program includes a clay shaping workshop on October 17, 19, 21 and 31 for participants interested in learning more about pottery, a major feature of Bahrain in the past.

The Silversmithing Workshop for Beginners will be held from October 24-28 to gain design skill in jewelry and ornaments.

The center will also host a mosaic shelving workshop on October 26-27 in collaboration with Meraki Art. Participants will gain insight into the art of surface decoration by arranging small-sized pieces of stone, glass, and ceramics.
