Sheikh Salman congratulated the UAE Football Association and the Abu Dhabi Sports Council on choosing FIFA as the capital of the UAE to host the world championship, praising the successful teamwork spirit that ensured global confidence in the country.

He affirmed the AFC’s readiness to provide all necessary support to the UAE to ensure the successful organization of the Cup.
The International Football Association (FIFA) confirmed yesterday that the FIFA Club World Cup 2020 will be held in Abu Dhabi.
The UAE capital has hosted the FIFA Club World Cup four times before, in 2009, 2010, 2017 and 2018. Barcelona and Inter Milan won the first two editions in Abu Dhabi, while Real Madrid were crowned champions for the next two editions in 2017 and 2018.
At the FIFA Council meeting in Zurich, Gianni Infantino confirmed that the event would take place in Abu Dhabi and that it had been postponed to early 2022.
