AC Milan’s winless streak up to 5 after 4-0 loss at Lazio

Rome, January 25 (BNA): Defending champions Milan lost 4-0 at Lazio in Serie A to extend the Rossoneri’s winless streak to five matches in all competitions.

Mattia Zakani set up one goal, then scored the other, as Lazio advanced to third place and the Champions League.

Milan remain second, 12 points behind midway leaders Napoli, and are now just one point ahead of Lazio, Inter Milan and Roma, the Associated Press reports.

Zakani’s cross set up a goal for Sergej Milinkovic-Savic four minutes later at Stadio Olimpico, then Zakani scored a rebound in the 38th minute.

Luis Alberto added a penalty for Lazio midway through the second half and Felipe Anderson scored in the 75th minute.

Milan’s poor run began by squandering a two-goal lead in a 2-2 draw with Roma. The Rossoneri were then eliminated from the Italian Cup by Torino with ten men before a 2-2 draw at Lecce.

Perhaps the most painful defeat came last week when Milan lost 3-0 at the hands of rivals Inter Milan in the Italian Super Cup.

Lazio won a treble between the league and the Coppa Italia.
